Franz Klammer World Cup Piste

The Strohsack/Lärchegg run was developed into a demanding course for World Cup races of all disciplines.
It is now possible to hold World Cup races in this Carinthian winter sports paradise. All the stipulated requirements for women's and men's races including men's downhill events are fulfilled on the Franz Klammer World Cup run.
With a gradient of up to 80% and selective transverse stretches, this course is even more demanding than the K70. The finishing slope ends particularly appealing for the audience: in the midst of the village centre, at the Römerbad thermal spa.
The course has been equipped with a powerful snow-making facility, and a 75,000 m² large reservoir guarantees the snow certainty of the World Cup run and also of the other pistes. In December 2003 the Franz Klammer World Cup run was officially inaugurated with a big celebration for Franz Klammer's 50th birthday.
